How much does it cost for a website?
Obtaining a website for your company or business does not cost
as much as you may expect. We are able to offer effective
web site designs at really competitive prices with the
aim of providing you with a cost effective, quality eyecatching website,
that has a good ranking in Google for an affordable price.
There are basically three main costs involved when designing
a site.
1. Name Registration
- The first step is to purchase a domain name for your site, otherwise
know as 'your web address' or 'your url'. You can check domain name availablity
here. We
are able to purchase your domain name and hosting for you.
2. Website Hosting
- As well as purchasing a domain name, web hosting will also need to
be purchased, this is effectively space on a providers server where your
web pages are stored. (Please note this is generally payable as a lump
sum for one years hosting). Again you can relax and put your
feet up as we can purchase this on your behalf.
3. Website Design
- Obviously all designs are different and different clients require
different funtionality, so we have listed some approximate costings
below to give an idea of what you will get for your money. All prices
include the domain name and hosting.
Standard Website
By 'standard', we mean a straightforward design with no additional
requirements such as dynamic news pages, password protected pages etc..Cost
largely depends upon how many pages the client requires, but typically
a ten to fifteen page site of this nature, including domain name and hosting
will cost,
approx £350 - £500.
Standard Website with additional
functionality
You may require a website that you can update yourself, or you
may wish to have a bulletinboard or guestbook etc. on your site - this
is what we describe as 'additional functionality'. A lot depends upon
the number of pages you require and the functionality you require, but
a typical price range, again including domain and hosting would be,
approx £350 - £700.
Database driven website
If you are intending to update your website on a regular basis,
or need to store a lot of information and provide search facilities to
your users a database driven site may be required. A good example would
be a travel agent who would be able to add/edit/delete holidays at will
from a database that would also enable front end users to search the
database for a holiday by area, location, price etc..
No two enquiries are ever the same, but basically the more complex
the site the higher the cost of designing the site. We have designed database
driven sites for as little as £450...however
due to the nature of this type of site please contact us for a quote..
Ecommerce Websites
Ecommerce websites, or online shops obviously cost slightly more
due to the complexity of the programming and the fact that they generally
require a database to store the products. Another consideration is how
you intend to process payments..do you have a pdq machine or will you
require an online payment processor like Worldpay, or perhaps
Paypal.
An approximate cost would be £1000 - £1500, but again
everyone has different requirements, so it may cost less, or it may cost
more.
If you are considering setting up a website that has products
for sale on it, please email me your requirements, in as much details
as possible so I can then send you a quote in due course.
In summation if you require a website
please contact us with your requirements, we will then provide you with
a quote and if that is satisfactory we then take care of all of the above
and in a few weeks time you will have a new website!
Site Optimisation - Requirements vary, but prices
start at one hundred pounds for a basic effective web site optimisation
review/update.

Your web site may need to be updated on a regular basis, with
information about your company or products, this should be considered
at the outset of your proposal.
We do however offer a service where the site is updated and maintained
by us as and when you request it. Obviously there will be a small regular
charge and will be dependent upon the frequency of updates. |
